Protects the health of the developing baby with 1 mg of tested and proven folic acid (21)
Only folic acid has been clinically proven to reduce NTDs- and the effect is
dose-related
PreCare Chewables contains 1 mg of folic acid to protect the health of the developing baby. (21) Only folic acid has been clinically proven to reduce neural tube defects (NTDs) — and its effect is dose related. (9-21) In fact, in January 2004, an article published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine showed that 1 mg of folic acid provided an estimated 58% more protection against neural tube defects (NTDs), compared to 0.4 mg. (21) Only your doctor can prescribe the full 1 mg of folic acid (over-the- counter prenatal vitamins all contain less than 1 mg of folic acid). Tell your physician that you want the full 1 mg of Folic acid, and make sure you check the label to be sure that it says “Folic Acid…..1mg”, such as that found in PreCare Chewables.
